About the Role
The Accountant is responsible for providing accurate and timely statutory financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting. In the absence of a CPA-qualification, strong excel skills with impeccable attention to detail is essential for this role. You will be a strong self-starter with the ability to hit the ground running and work independently.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analysis & Reporting: Proactively analyse, interpret, and report financial data, sharing insights and risks with key stakeholders.
  • Fixed Asset Register: Maintain the Fixed Asset Register, ensuring accurate reconciliations, reports, and projections.
  • Month-End Processes: Prepare month-end accrual journals and reconciliations, and assist with monthly management and external reports.
  • Tax Reporting: Assist with preparing, calculating, and lodging Payroll Tax and BAS, annual FBT and Taxable Payment reports to the ATO.

Experience & Qualifications
The successful Candidate must be able to demonstrate;
  • Expertise in complex financial reporting and Australian Accounting Standards.
  • Proven ability to deliver exceptional work independently with meticulous attention to detail, including expert-level Excel skills and accurate data-entry.
  • Excellent oral and written communication.
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.

Desirable but not essential:
  • CPA qualification
  • Knowledge of, or a background in, civil construction/heavy industries
