About the Role
Red Appointments are excited to be partnering with this organisation to secure an experienced Civil Project Manager to join their team on one of their major projects in the north eastern regional area of the Northern Territory. The project is expected to run for approximately 3 years so this is a great opportunity to relocate to the region and experience the beautiful northern Australian coast. Alternatively, FIFO arrangements can be considered.
Reporting to the Construction Manager your key responsibilities will be for the strategic management of project delivery from contract award, through execution and close-out trough effective management of people and processes to deliver the project on time, within budget and in compliance with all relevant legislation.
Main Areas of Responsibilities
·Project Delivery
oEnsure project delivery in line with policies, standards, procedures and legislation
oLiaise and coach site team on project delivery methodology and constructability issues
oDevelop site specific project plans in line with company and client objectives
oProvide a hands on approach in leading and managing the project team
·Commercial, procurement and contract management
oNegotiation of payment claims, extension requests, contract variations etc.,
oMonitor and review progress reports and manage staffing, financial results, programs etc.,
oDevelop and implement effective procurement strategy
·Financial management
oForecasting and monitoring productivity, cost control and reporting
oConduct monthly reviews on financial deliverables and obligations
·Staff Management
oEstablish and manage performance expectations of site team
oAccountable for the development and mentoring of the project teams
oMonitor the application and management of Industrial Relations requirements
·Risk, OHS, Environmental and Quality
oWork closely with the project teams to ensure compliance with OHS procedures
oEnsure all safe systems of work implemented minimising risk to health and safety
oInvestigate and report incidents, project non-conformances etc.,
oWork closely with the Business Unit's Safety Advisor
oLead Safety and environmental awareness in line with Safety Certainly 2.0 principles
oPromote the focus on environmental sustainability and initiatives to achieve targets
To be successful, you will require:
·Demonstrated experience in a similar role with relevant industry
·Relevant tertiary qualification in Engineering or Construction Management
·Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
·Strong issue resolution skills and capacity to manage high stress situations
·Proficient in project management suite of software - MS Professional suite, MS Project, Primavera, ERP systems e.g. Pronto, SAP or Oracle and Project Management platforms such as Aconex, Procore or InEight
·Current valid class C Driver's Licence
