Position: FT and Permanent Site based HSEQ Officer
Hours: Monday to Friday - 40 hour working week
Pay: Salaried position paid monthly
Permanent Opportunity : With first project starts Monday 5th January 2026 and is expected to complete circa Oct 2026, you will then move to working on other projects (in Adelaide)
Location: Working at project site and first project will be located outer northern suburbs of Adelaide and at times from Adelaide office - located inner north-western suburbs
Projects: Large Tier One electrical projects

Key focus of the role:

Reporting to the site project manager, the predominantly site based HSEQ Officer is responsible for promoting and ensuring a safe working environment on an electrical construction project. The role involves implementing HSE policies, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

HSE Compliance & Monitoring:

  • Implement and enforce site-specific HSE plans and procedures in accordance with company and regulatory standards
  • Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify hazards and ensure compliance
  • Monitor high-risk activities such as electrical installations, trenching, cable laying, and heavy equipment operations

Risk Management:

  • Perform risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies for electrical and civil works
  • Investigate incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions; recommend corrective actions
  • Maintain and update risk registers and safety documentation

Training & Engagement:

  • Deliver HSE inductions and toolbox talks tailored to electrical and civil site activities
  • Promote a positive safety culture through engagement with site personnel and subcontractors
  • Support the development of safety awareness campaigns and initiatives

Reporting & Documentation:

  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly HSE reports for site management and client representatives
  • Arrange safety documentation and prepare SWMS
  • Ensure accurate documentation of inspections, incidents, and corrective actions
  • Assist in the preparation of HSE documentation for project handover

Qualifications & Skills required:

  • Diploma or degree in Electrical or Civil Engineering, or a related field is highly advantageous
  • Previous HSE Advisor experience on construction or infrastructure projects (electrical and/or civil focus)
  • Strong understanding of electrical safety standards and practices
  • Certifications/qualifications in HSE/WHS
  • White Card
  • Excellent communication, observation, and reporting skills
  • Familiarity with local safety regulations and international standards
