The successful candidate with assist with the provision of accurate and timely transactional accounting to produce quality financial information and services to management. The activities of this position will support the overall quality objectives of the Finance Team and of the Shared Services function as a whole.
Reporting to Financial & Management Accounting Manager
Responsibilities and Activities: Working across multiple entities in the group:
- Preparation and processing of accounting journals
- Maintenance of the general ledger including completion of timely & accurate General Ledger Reconciliations
- Assist with the preparation of financial reporting and management accounts
- Preparation of BAS and IAS
- Investigation and clearance of any variances disclosed in the reconciliation process
- Assist with the provision of ad hoc information to various stakeholders in the business including tender support and external parties including banks, consultants, and the Australian Bureau of Statistics,
- Understand and be able to assist with various queries raised by the accounts staff
- Undertake tasks as directed by the Chief Financial Officer and Manager - Financial & Mgt Accounting
- Maintenance of the cash flow and treasury function of all entities, including debtor finance facilities.
- Maintain a thorough knowledge of the quality framework (including all policies and processes that relate to the workscope of their team) and ensure that all activities are carried out in accordance with that framework
- Internal payroll
- Assisting with day to day financial transactions
- Relevant accounting and management experience of at least 3 years post-graduation.
- Degree in Business majoring in Accounting
- Associate Membership of one of the two professional bodies; CPA Australia or the Institute of Chartered Accountants at the level of CPA or CA
- Advanced Excel Skills
