Key Responsibilities
- Perform civil works including trenching, pit and pipe installation, and reinstatement.
- Operate machinery such as excavators and skid steers safely and efficiently.
- Read and interpret telecommunications construction plans.
- Lead and coordinate a small team on-site.
- Liaise with clients and stakeholders professionally via phone and email.
- Assist with quoting, plan mark-ups, and raising variations.
- Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
Essential Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience working on the Telstra Network.
- Strong knowledge of underground telecommunications infrastructure (excluding wireless/mobile).
- Telecommunications Pit and Pipe accreditation.
- ACM WPA certified and Supervisor accreditation.
- Experience with cable hauling (fibre and copper).
- HR Truck License (or willingness to obtain prior to employment).
- Open cabling registration with endorsements for HFC, Optic Fibre, Copper, and Structured Cabling.
- Ability to pass DCSI Working with Children and Elderly assessment and Defense Screening.
- Willingness to travel and work away as required.
Highly Regarded
- Excavator and Skid Steer tickets.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Experience managing staff and delegating tasks.
- Familiarity with quoting and variation processes.
