Our client is a well-established civil construction company based in Darwin, renowned for delivering high-quality outcomes across major defence, industrial, community, commercial, and remote projects throughout the NT.
About you
Step into a pivotal role as our Civil Project Engineer, where you'll be the driving force behind project success-leading cost control, delivering sharp daily and weekly analysis, ensuring top-tier quality assurance, and keeping operations running smoothly with timely reporting and hands-on support.
Key responsibilities:
• Ensure readiness for work and maintain professional presentation.
• Accurately complete and submit project documentation and reports.
• Monitor product delivery to meet quality, budget, and timeline standards.
• Implement and maintain quality control processes (ITPs, testing, hold/witness points).
• Manage subcontractor, supplier, and plant hire contracts.
• Support cost control, procurement, and construction programming.
• Liaise with clients and stakeholders to protect project interests.
• Assist with short-term scheduling and project planning.
• Participate in toolbox talks, safety meetings, and HSEQ training.
• Ensure compliance with WHS standards and PPE requirements.
• Conduct onsite verifications and support issue resolution with the Project Manager.
• Maintain corrective action register and contribute to continuous improvement.
• Perform additional duties as directed within your skillset.
What you need to succeed:
• Nationally recognised Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering
• 2+ years' Australian experience in civil construction (Subdivision and/or road construction experience highly desirable)
• Strong communication and time management skills
• Ability to work independently and within a team
• Proficient in reading and interpreting contracts and project drawings
• Experience in subcontractor management
• C Class Driver's Licence
• Construction White Card (Nationally Recognised Construction Induction)
• Must be based in Darwin or be willing to relocate.
• Must be adaptable and flexible and be willing to work additional hours and weekends if required.
