Our client is a leading NT Civil Construction business based in Darwin who have worked on major Defence, industrial, community, commercial and remote construction projects in the NT over the past 50 years. Due to business growth, they now have an exciting opportunity for a Civil Project Manager to join their team.
About the role
Reporting to and supporting the Project Manager, the Civil Supervisor is responsible for civil construction projects, including roads, bridges, drainage, and earthworks and providing guidance to their team while ensuring effective management of people and processes to deliver projects on time and budget.
- Supervise construction teams, contractors, and subcontractors to ensure they follow project specifications and safety standards.
- Ensure that the construction activities are completed on time and within budget.
- Ensure that the quality of work meets the project's requirements and complies with relevant local, state, and federal regulations.
- Perform regular inspections of construction sites to ensure adherence to safety protocols and construction standards.
- Address and resolve any quality control issues promptly.
- Manage the day-to-day activities of workers on site, ensuring that the work progresses smoothly, and any issues are dealt with quickly.
- Maintain accurate daily reports, detailing work performed, materials used, and any incidents on site.
- Liaise with engineers, project managers, and other stakeholders to ensure project alignment and resolve any design or construction issues.
- Ensure proper communication among all site personnel and keep all team members informed about updates or changes in the project scope.
- Enforce and monitor strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental policies on-site.
- Conduct regular safety meetings and ensure all personnel are trained on safety protocols.
- Ensure the proper allocation of materials, equipment, and manpower for the project.
- Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and manage inventory.
The successful candidate for this role must be able to prove and demonstrate the following:
- Proven experience in Civil Project Supervision.
- Extensive experience working on civil construction projects within the NT.
- Extensive knowledge of Civil Machinery and hold current RII qualifications.
- Strong Leadership, supervision, and communication skills.
- Intermediate Computer skills and knowledge, including Microsoft Suite.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Possess strong time management skills.
- The ability and willingness to work on remote projects.
