Our client is seeking a skilled and motivated Contract Manager to join their growing team in Darwin for a 6 month temporary assignment commencing immediately. This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in enhancing contract performance and governance across a diverse portfolio of enabling contracts.

About the role:
The Contract Manager Business Partner will implement the Contract Management Framework, enhancing contract controls and governance processes. As part of a small team, you will manage contract-related activities, monitor performance, and provide strategic and tactical contract management advice.

Key duties and responsibilities:
• Lead the full lifecycle of general or enabling contracts, from initiation and performance monitoring to close-out. Facilitate start-up meetings, manage supplier relationships, and ensure service delivery aligns with contractual obligations and organisational policies.
• Support the implementation and oversight of Contract Management Framework. Provide mentoring and guidance to Contract Managers in the Integrated Works Management (IWM) and Project Delivery Management (PDM) teams to ensure consistent and compliant contract practices.
• Act as a trusted advisor to internal stakeholders, offering expert guidance on contractor performance, risk management, and dispute resolution. Collaborate with Category Managers to align contract execution with strategic procurement goals.
• Identify recurring issues and inefficiencies in contract management processes. Develop and implement strategies to improve contract outcomes, enhance supplier performance, and support operational and financial objectives.
• Contribute to the drafting of contract management policies and procedures. Assist in compiling reports on compliance and performance for executive and management review.
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal teams and external suppliers. Provide consistent and professional support to resolve issues, manage variations, and negotiate contract terms as needed.

What You'll Bring:
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, including the ability to lead critical conversations.
• Proven experience in senior-level contract management or governance roles in complex environments.
• Analytical and investigative skills, with proficiency in contract management systems and Microsoft Office.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively to deliver strategic outcomes within deadlines.
• Practical knowledge of contract management techniques.
• Familiarity with NT Government contract frameworks
• Qualifications in procurement or contract management
• Experience in utilities, construction, or government sectors
