As a Customer Connections Officer, you will manage customer related connections and coordinate with electrical installers, retailers, consultants and Power and Water work groups to ensure customers' new electrical connections and upgraded connections are completed within nominated timeframes and in line with electricity supply industry codes.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and schedule customer connections including Point of Entry, Notices of Intentions, Certificates of Compliance, Low Voltage Service Connection Non-Compliance Reports, Notices of Improvements, NBN installations on Power and Water Assets, associated paperwork for electricity load supply installations and Rooftop Solar Photovoltaic (PV) applications.
- Work with Power and Water personal to determine suitable points of supply/metering requirements for requested Negotiated Connection applications.
- Coordinate connection applications for basic and unmetered connection applications
- Carry out final audits on customer's electrical installations for residential and development power clearance compliance.
- Coordinate with installers and Power and Water work groups to ensure all works are completed within required AER timeframes.
- Work with installers, retailers and Power and Water work groups to provide advice and clarification to customers regarding all customer connection progress.
- Support field-based crews by coordinating the Isolation of services to allow the safe installation of meters by Power and Water field crews, in line with Power and Water's metering manual.
- Support field-based crews by coordinating the connection of basic service connections between the customer, electricians and Power and Water field crews.
- Interpret, review, and approve electrical connection design drawings to ensure compliance with the NT NER, AS 3000, AS4777, Power and Water standards and relevant legislation.
About You
You are a detail-oriented individual with a strong foundation in managing coordinating project delivery. Additionally, you will possess.
- An AQF certificate III or equivalent skills, knowledge, and experience in Electrical Engineering.
- NT Electrical License.
- Developed skills in schematic electrical connection and design drawings, and associated compliance.
- Experience and understanding of the Northern Territory's distribution systems, including the regulated and non-regulated network.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
