Our client is a leading NT Civil Construction business based in Darwin who have worked on major Defence, industrial, community, commercial and remote construction projects throughout the NT for over 50 years. Due to business growth, they now have exciting opportunities for Diesel Mechanics to join their team.

About the role:
We are seeking experienced Diesel Mechanics to join a busy workshop in Darwin. In this role, you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and servicing of trucks, civil machines, and light vehicles. From diagnostics to mechanical repairs, your expertise will ensure that our fleet is operating safely and efficiently.
  • Perform diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on diesel engines, transmissions, and hydraulic systems.
  • Conduct routine inspections and servicing according to manufacturer guidelines.
  • Troubleshoot and identify mechanical issues efficiently.
  • Utilise diagnostic tools and equipment effectively.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with team members.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed.
About You:

The successful candidate for this role must be able to prove and demonstrate the following:
  • Australian Recognised Trade Certificate (HD Diesel Mechanic or Equivalent) - qualifications are preferred but not essential.
  • Alternatively, if you are an LV Mechanic with extensive Diesel experience, we want to hear from you.
  • High levels of initiative and the ability to work well under pressure.
  • Strong safety focus - actively participate and support safety initiatives and strategies.
  • Demonstrated experience working in a heavy vehicle workshop environment.
  • A motivated work ethic with the ability to work unsupervised.
  • Experience working with Kenworth & CAT engines is highly desirable.
