About the role:
The Design/Drafter role is responsible for taking electrical switchboard specifications through a design process to produce a set of documents from which the required product can be manufactured.
The applicant will be a self-motivated individual with excellent attention to detail and an ability to work in a team environment to support the continued growth in the Switchboard manufacturing sector.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Detail design and drafting of low voltage switchboard assemblies
- Generation of accurate bill of materials
- Drawing revisions and document control
- Liaise with key stakeholders - clients, estimators, project management, workshop personnel, and suppliers
- Review design processes to identify opportunities for innovation and improvement
- Generation of Operation and Maintenance Manuals
Skills and experience required to be successful in this role:
- Demonstrated proficiency using AutoCAD products
- Experience with AutoDesk Inventor 3D highly desirable
- A background in switchboard manufacture and / or sheet metal manufacture would be highly regarded
- Electrical trade or Engineering qualification highly regarded
- Knowledge of relevant statutes, legislation and applicable Australian Standards including AS 61439
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- Well-developed collaborative working style
- Must have a good attitude to safety and comply with all Company safety requirements.
- Excellent communication skills and a true team player
- Excellent planning and time management capabilities with high attention to detail and accuracy
- Adaptable and flexible approach to work - a can do attitude
