Skills and Experience
The main expectation of this role is to provide technical expertise for all Company projects including planning and managing all activities across the wider project lifecycle in order to deliver all projects successfully. Responsibility of resource management and building organisation effectiveness across the project engineering team. A strong mechanical engineering background is essential along with confidence and experience in the ability to lead and guide structural and civil engineering projects.
To be considered for this role you will need:
Essential:
·Experience in managing an Engineering team to work strictly within technical guidelines safely and efficiently.
·Significant project management skills including commercials such as progress claims, cost valuations, budgets, forecasting and tender documents.
·Manage, develop and maintain the civil, structural and mechanical in house design functions and external outsourced design functions.
·Superior communication skills to be able to develop and maintain excellent working relationships with internal customers to understand their objectives and desired outcomes to meet and exceed their expectations.
·Demonstrated experience strategically managing major subcontractors and suppliers to facilitate the optimal value of goods and services provided.
·A commitment to develop and grow staff capability to ensure technical skills are maintained across the team and drive continuous development of employees to meet both personnel and business aspirations.
·Significant knowledge of appropriate Australian and International Standards, knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures
·Ability to promote a high standard of safety, professionalism and effective communication with both internal and external stakeholders.
·Drivers Licence.
·Availability work travel inter/intra state when/if required.
·Tertiary qualifications in Mechanical Engineering.
Desired
·Tertiary qualification in Business Management.
·Significant relevant experience in mechanical engineering projects.
·Significant relevant experience in leading and developing a team with diverse engineering backgrounds.
