Located at Mt Borradaile in Western Arnhemland, Davidson's Arnhemland Safaris provides a high quality tourism experience. Situated on a registered Aboriginal sacred site and nestled against the famed Arnhemland escarpment, the 700 sq-km property offers its guests a range of eco-tourism experiences including, billabong cruises, birdwatching, cultural tours, Aboriginal rock art, Barramundi fishing and much more. Currently we are looking to secure an appropriately experienced Manager to oversee all the day to day running of the lodge and all it's facilities.
About the role:
The Manager is responsible for the general day-to-day operations of Davidson's Arnhemland Safaris, including staff recruitment and management, guest bookings, visitor experiences, ordering, facilities
management and compliance with WHS and other legislation, regulations and company policies, whilst ensuring guest needs and satisfaction are met or exceeded. Ideally you will possess some or all of the following:
- Significant experience in hospitality and tourism
- Ability to motivate, coach and manage a dedicated team
- Sound understanding of WHS practices and willingness to lead by example
- Experience working in remote locations
- Ability to work to budgets
- High level communication skills and ability to interact with guests and employees
- Flexible, reliable, adaptable, can do attitude
- Current manual drivers license.
This truly is a unique opportunity and may suit a couple if the partner can bring additional relevant skills. This is a remote location and you will be responsible for a team of around 15 people, with direct reports of Head Chef, Head Tour Guide and Maintenance Officer, so it is critical you can lead by example and chip in and help out when required.
The Lodge's season runs from March until October but the manager is expected to stay on until about mid December, then have approximately 2.5 months off. A very competitive salary packed is on offer including free meals and accommodation.
