Red Appointments are seeking an experienced mechanical engineer or mechanical trade qualified individual (e.g., mechanical fitter) who has previously worked on construction projects in a heavy industrial or mine site (processing) environment, for an ongoing causal opportunity to Olympic Dam. The requirement is expected to be approximately for 6 months, but could potentially be longer.
Employment: Labour Hire/temp through Red Appointments
Pay: Hourly (competitive flat hourly rate on offer dependent on experience)
Pay Cycle: Weekly
Roster: 8/6 (Working Wednesday to Wednesday)
Work Location: Olympic Dam
Specifics: Working surface - 8 to 9 hours per day and underground 3 to 4 hours per day
Projects: Working on a range of construction projects in a mine site environment
Arrangement: FIFO: Paid flights (ex: Adelaide only), paid (camp) accommodation
DIDO on the same roster can also be considered (for South Australia based candidates) and Roxby Downs locals with the relevant experience are also encouraged to apply
Working days: 12-hour days (5am to 5pm)
Duration: Immediate start - to work on a range of construction projects at the mine site as a casual opportunity for 6 months, with the potential that the requirement may run longer.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Providing technical support to the execution a range of construction projects (surface)
- Adding input and focus across construction strategies, project methodologies, reviewing engineering plans, testing equipment, project schedules, project deliverables, quality control activities, WHS compliance, and risk management
- Daily interaction with a range of stakeholders including clients and contractors
Skills and experience required:
- Mechanical Engineering degree or trade qualified (Mechanical Fitter)
- Previous experience in construction projects (gained in a heavy industrial or mine site (processing) environment
- Previous experience in a supervisory role preferred
- Computer literate in using a variety of systems and platforms (experience with MS Project, PROCURE and/or SAP is advantageous)
- Excellent communication skills (client and contractor facing role)
- Current drivers' licence
- White Card
You will be immediately available or coming to the end of a contract/project, ready to start a new work opportunity quickly and able to commit to the next 6 months and ideally, beyond.
