Our client is seeking a dynamic Procurement Business Partner to join their team for a 6-month temporary assignment commencing immediately. This is your opportunity to contribute to impactful procurement strategies that support essential services across the Northern Territory.
About the role:
This role focusses on coordinating and advising on all aspects of the procurement process to ensure the achievement of compliant and commercial procurement outcomes.
What you'll be doing:
• Provide expert advice and guidance on procurement strategies, ensuring alignment with Procurement Framework and Rules.
• Lead the development of market approach documentation, facilitate legal reviews, and manage procurement-related complaints for high-value and complex projects.
• Work closely with internal business units to support supplier selection, commercial negotiations, and procurement planning to meet business needs.
• Identify opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement in procurement practices, contributing to policy development and process optimisation.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and service providers, monitor market trends, and benchmark performance to ensure value-for-money outcomes.
• Apply procurement governance frameworks to manage risk, ensure compliance, and enhance procurement performance across the organisation.
• Maintain accurate procurement records and systems and deliver high-quality performance reports to support business transparency and accountability.
• Foster a collaborative team environment, providing leadership and support to ensure high performance and alignment with organisational goals.
What You'll Bring:
• Strong commercial acumen and analytical skills.
• Extensive experience in procurement across construction, goods, services, or utilities.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Demonstrated ability to lead strategic procurement initiatives.
• Knowledge of project management and process improvement.
• CIPS qualification or equivalent (highly desirable)
• Experience in the utilities or public sector (highly desirable)
