Our client (an established civil construction company) is currently seeking a civil/mining (preferable Olympic Dam) experienced Project Engineer for a temporary opportunity working FIFO (ex-Adelaide only) to Olympic Dam. Working 2 weeks on / one week off roster.

Project Engineer responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Assist in the preparation of Project estimates including project documentation
  • Ensure projects are delivered within cost, on time and in line with schedule
  • Monitoring performance and re-assessing efficiency and quality
  • Support developing and implementing sub contracts/supplier agreements
  • Develop and communicate quality documentation, best work practices, standards and expectations
  • Monitor adherence to safe work method statements and undertake risk analysis.
  • Coordinate with WHSEQ team to support developing site/project specific safety plans to ensure implementation
  • Demonstrate effective leadership and direction to engineering team
  • Client and stakeholder relationship communication promoting a customer focused team culture

Ideally you will have:

  • Problem-solving skills with the ability to exercise mature judgement
  • Competency in project management suite of software (e.g., Microsoft professional suite, MS Project, Primavera), ERP systems (e.g., Pronto, SAP, Oracle e-business) and project management platforms (e.g., InEight, Aconex, Procore)
  • Strong safety focus and knowledge
  • Persistence, motivation and drive, good time management and adherence to agreed costs, schedules and timeframes
  • Be thorough and pay attention to detail
  • A good understanding of Australian Standards (AS)
  • Knowledge of health and Safety legislation
  • Excellent communication and numeracy skills

Qualifications and Experience required:

  • Tertiary engineering qualifications
  • Degree qualifications in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • Hold a current White Card
  • Hold a current driver's license
  • Have a current Police check and ability to obtain DCSI and Defence clearance
  • Demonstrated engineering experience in major construction/infrastructure project delivery preferably in the Civil Engineering space
  • Experience in Contracts administration and management
  • Experience in managing construction scheduling and cost/cash flow management
