Working closely with Construction Manager and Project Managers, the Project Engineer is responsible for providing leadership and technical expertise to the construction and engineering teams in support of project deliverables within the specified timeframe, quality expectations and budget.
Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- Support the Project Manager in managing various aspects of the project
- Act as technical lead for the project team, client, subcontractors and suppliers
- Support with QA/QC compliance and reporting
- Plan team's work to meet required timelines including overseeing contractor works
- Arrange plant, labour and material resources
- Review Project site reports, designs and drawings to ensure they meet project requirements
- Maintain site diary to capture all works
- Support PM with purchasing and procurement for the project
- Perform assessment of risks and hazard
- Provide support with leadership, direction and supervision
- Interpret specifications and project plans to organise, estimate and schedule project efforts
- Ensure adherence to WHSEQ standards, policies and procedures
Skills and experience required to be successful in this role:
- Project engineering experience in major construction/infrastructure project delivery (preferably mechanical/civil or structural engineering focus
- Experience in managing construction scheduling and cost/cash flow management
- Proficient in project management suite of software (e.g., MS Project or Primavera), ERP systems (e.g., Pronto, SAP, Oracle e-business), and project management platforms (e.g., inEight, Aconex, Procure)
- Degree qualified in Engineering (civil, structural)
- Flexibility to work rural SA / interstate as required
- Current Driver's License and current White Card
- Current Police Record and ability to obtain DCSI and Defence clearance
