Our client is a leading NT Civil Construction business based in Darwin who have worked on major Defence, industrial, community, commercial and remote construction projects in the NT over the past 50 years. Due to business growth, they now have an exciting opportunity for a Civil Project Manager to join their team.

About the role

Working closely with the General Manager, the Civil Project Manager is responsible for strategically managing current and upcoming civil projects, coordination of project resources and providing a high level of support and guidance to their team while ensuring effective management of people and processes to deliver projects on time and budget. 
  • Plan projects and oversee their progress along the way in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Coordinate the scoping and securing of subsequent phases of work.
  • Direct and monitor sub-contractors, suppliers, and plant hires.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, clients, and suppliers.
  • Manage the commercial aspects of the project, including proposal/contract review, contract management and scope variations.
  • Raising and lodging customer claims as required.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with clients and suppliers.
  • Foster a positive and collaborate team culture.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and to a high standard.
  • Ensure projects comply with all relevant safety, health, and environmental standards.
  • Ensuring Quality, Client Satisfaction and Financial budgets are met.
  • Ensuring the technical aspects of project delivery are resourced and completed.
  • Maintaining adequate reporting to key departments of the company.
  • Working closely with the key functions of the business, in particular, HR, Finance & Safety.
  • Continuously monitor project performance and implement improvements.
Skills & Experience

The successful candidate for this role must be able to prove and demonstrate the following:
  • Qualifications or proven experience in Project Management.
  • Extensive experience working on civil construction projects within the NT.
  • Strong Leadership, supervision, and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of WHS and Environmental legislation, AS4801-Occupational, Health and Safety Management Systems, Federal Safety Commission, and industry best practice guidelines.
  • Proven experience in contract administration throughout project lifecycle.
  • Intermediate Computer skills and knowledge, including Microsoft Suite.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Possess strong time management skills.
  • The ability and willingness to work on remote projects.
