Working closely with the Survey Manager and Construction Manager, the Surveyor is responsible for using surveying knowledge and skills to measure, collect, analyse and report land-related information for the planning and regulation of land, sea and the environment. This role joins the construction team to provide all the surveying support required to validate and clarify site information.
Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- Undertake surveying work in the field to support construction and site team
- Produce 3D models for machine guidance
- Set out design for earthworks and concrete works
- Coordinate field staff and process field data
- Verify accuracy of survey data, including measurements and calculations conducted at survey sites
- Prepare survey sketches for design clarification
- Produce professional as-built plans and verification reports
- Assist the estimating teams for take-off volumes information
- Create field Setout designs for survey teams
- Calculate volumetric and area quantities
- Install, measure, and adjust survey control networks
Skills and experience required to be successful in this role:
- Appropriate qualifications in surveying, engineering or other relevant fields
- Previous experience in civil surveying of large construction projects
- Experience in producing and working with 3D spatial data and TIN models and their implementation using TRK GPS, Total Station, and machine guidance
- Strong understanding of survey functions for civil and construction works
- Proficient in the use of survey related software packages (e.g., 12D, Civil 3D), general suite of software (e.g., MS Professional Suite) Estimation systems (e.g., Benchmark, Expert, CostX) also AutoCAD
- Flexible to work rural SA/interstate as required
- Current Driver's License and current White Card
- Current Police Record and ability to obtain DCSI and Defence clearance
