Due to current and upcoming projects and business growth, they now have an opportunity for an experienced Transport Supervisor to join their team.
About the role:
As a Transport Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising transport operations, including haulage, maintenance, and administrative activities. You will work closely with the General Manager and liaise with various departments to ensure smooth and efficient transport operations.
Key duties and responsibilities:
• Supervise transport operations and coordinate with the Workshop Supervisor.
• Maintain records for NHVR compliance and assist in internal audits.
• Ensure drivers adhere to driving hours regulations and speed limits.
• Monitor driver activities, including work and rest times.
• Maintain vehicle maintenance records.
• Ensure compliance with mass or dimension limits.
• Inspect driver load restraints.
• Handle employee disputes and complaints confidentially.
• Participate in recruitment processes.
• Organise repairs for vehicle and equipment defects.
• Adhere to company policies and procedures.
• Support risk management processes.
• Report workplace hazards and incidents.
• Maintain personal presentation and equipment cleanliness.
• Complete and submit relevant paperwork timely.
• Participate in safety meetings.
• Represent the company professionally.
• Comply with HSEQ standards and PPE requirements.
• Respect company vehicles, equipment, and personnel.
• Undertake additional duties as requested by management.
What you need to succeed:
• Extensive experience in the Road Transport Industry
• Experience coordinating a large fleet of road trains
• Experience supervising teams of 25 - 50 truck drivers.
• Strong administration and time management skills.
• A proven problem solver with the ability to forward plan and think outside of the box.
• Must be comfortable with frequent schedule changes, as you will be dealing with both external and internal stakeholders, the ability to react quickly and efficiently to sudden changes is essential.
• Be confident in using computer software including Microsoft suite.
• Possess strong leadership/supervision and communication skills.
• Sound knowledge and understanding of Chain of Responsibility and the National Heavy Vehicle Accreditation Scheme.
• Hold a current MC Licence and experience operating quad road trains / side tipper's as you may be required to operate at times.
• High Risk Licence & White Card
