About the company
Our client is a privately owned NFP WA Aboriginal organisation based in Port Hedland delivering services to communities around property management, environmental health, municipal services, and the provision of maintenance and essential services. They are currently seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic/Fitter with experience in power generation, diesel generators / gensets and installations to join their team on a FIFO roster of 3:2 to Port Hedland for an immediate start.

Position Overview
As one part of a two man Northern Power Crew working alongside an Electrician your prime objective will be the maintenance, repairs and project work of the power generation equipment , diesel gensets and upkeep of crucial power for power stations, generators on remote bores and power reticulation that serve 28 Aboriginal communities in the Pilbara region and its surroundings.

Duties include:
• Perform maintenance, repair, and installation of diesel power generation equipment and gensets.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues in power generation systems.
• Conduct routine inspections, testing, and calibration of generators to ensure optimal performance.
• Carry out emergency repairs and breakdown assistance as required.
• Assist in the installation and commissioning of new power generation equipment.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and environmental standards.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair work.

Skills & Experience
The successful candidate for this role must be able to demonstrate …
• Proven experience as a Diesel Fitter / Mechanic with a focus on power generation and gensets.
• Relevant trade qualification and certifications in diesel mechanics or related field.
• Technical expertise, including knowledge of diesel engines and generators.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a remote, FIFO environment.
• Current Driver's Licence
• Police Clearance
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Good sense of humour for long drives in between.
• Commitment to safety and adherence to safety protocols.

• FR$62.50 per hour, 11.5-hour workdays
• Additional $90 per day LAFA (meals)
• Weekly Gross = $5,661.25
