We are seeking two (2) experienced Electrical Estimators for an immediate start to provide quantity take off and estimating support to the projects. In addition to developing and maintaining a standard estimating work process, the senior estimators will be responsible for the planning, coordination, and execution of company standards for estimating systems. The roles are initially for a 3-month period with potential for ongoing employment.

Your key responsibilities will include:
  • Develop cost estimates, coordinate proposals, revise, and implement estimates as required.
  • Provide area specific forecasts while reporting on projects status for assigned estimating projects.
  • Manage multiple bids maintaining client relations, ensuring bid format meet client's standards and requirements.
  • Evaluate customer request for tender/bid/quotation documents, including coordinating bid responses from all key stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors to receive input on pricing on labour, materials and other costs.
  • Participate pre and post bid meetings as required.
  • Log proposals and tenders for cost tracking and historical information.
  • Function as liaison for Project Management when tender is awarded and becomes job.
  • Ensure the development and deployment of resources, the implementation and continual improvement of quantity take off and estimating standards, policies, and procedures, and providing the primary customer (the project teams) with excellent service resulting in a high level of customer satisfaction.

Essential skills / Experience required:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering/similar commercial and/or industrial
  • Demonstrated experience in electrical estimating
  • Good knowledge of planning and construction methodologies
  • Willingness to embrace processes and work well under pressure
  • Effective communication skills
  • Exercise attention to detail and be able to review formal documentation
  • IT literate particularly with MS Project, Word, Excel and Access
  • Excellent client relationship skills
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously while also being a flexible and an adaptable team player
