Position Overview
We are currently on the lookout for a fun, energetic and vibrant Senior Administration Officer with excellent administration and organisational skills to thrive in a fast paced environment supporting various roles within our client's team. This position is on a temporary basis with the opportunity for permanency for the right person.
Day to day responsibilities:
- Provide administrative and secretarial support to the wider council services team reporting directly to the Chief Operations Officer
- Coordinate committee meetings, prepare papers, and support management delivery
- Collect, compile, and prepare documentation to support decision-making and information flow
- Process routine financial transactions and purchasing services
- Update and maintain accurate records and databases
- Stay informed on relevant legislation, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance
- Deliver business support services within agreed standards, timeframes, and accuracy
- Monitor and respond to emails, correspondence, and calls
- Supervise, mentor, and coach Administrative Officers and team members
- Manage fleet operations (asset register, purchasing, tracking, servicing, auction, livery)
- Collaborate with other Administration Officer's to maintain council website and social media pages
- Provide reports to business leads on actions and focus areas
- Analyse data to prepare reports, measure KPIs, and improve operational efficiency
- Undertake small to medium projects and research tasks as required
- Ensure effective stakeholder relationships and escalate KPI non-compliance to COO
- Occasional travel to remote communities by light aircraft or 4WD, including overnight stays if needed
- Perform other duties as directed, in line with skills and experience
What you need to succeed:
- Certificate IV or Diploma in Business Administration (or equivalent experience as an Executive Assistant/Senior Administration Officer)
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and quick to learn new systems
- Understanding of financial practices with experience in Corporate Financial Systems
- Current National Criminal History Check
- Current Working with Children (OCHRE) Card
Benefits & perks:
- Excellent pay rate between $50-$55 p/h
- Weekly pays
- Monday - Friday 8-4pm
