Join one of the largest employers in the NT, supplying water, electricity generation, and retail services across the region. Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Fixed Assets Accountant commencing on an initial 6-mths contract assignment for immediate start.

Overview
The Senior Fixed Assets Accountant is responsible for the accurate recording and reporting of property, plant, and equipment for the Corporation and its subsidiaries. Develop and analyse monthly financial reporting and provide support and advice to business units to ensure compliance with finance and asset-related policies.

Key Responsibilities:
• Ensure accurate recording and reporting of property, plant, and equipment in Statutory and Management Reports, meeting internal and external reporting requirements.
• Provide expert advice and support across business units regarding assets, including capitalisation, ensuring compliance with policies, processes, and Accounting Standards.
• Coordinate annual valuations to ensure property, plant, and equipment reflect fair value.
• Maintain and update accounting policies related to assets and capitalisation.

About You:
The successful Candidate must be able to demonstrate;
• Strong leadership and team management skills in dynamic environments.
• Proven ability to deliver accurate work independently with meticulous attention to detail.
• Excellent oral and written communication, negotiation, and mediation abilities.
• Capability to explain complex accounting concepts to non-accountants.
• Advanced analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Expertise in complex financial reporting and Australian Accounting Standards.
• Experience advising on asset management and policy development.
• Track record in coordinating annual valuations for asset fair value.
• Accounting degree and CPA or nearing qualification.
• Proficiency in complex fixed asset accounting, including tax strategy and valuation techniques (desirable).
• Background in utilities, heavy industries, or related sectors with knowledge of current issues in power and water (desirable).

Benefits & Culture
• $95-$110 p/hr + Super
• Monday to Friday 37.5 hrs per week
• Immediate start, initial 6-mth contract
