From its beginnings in Melbourne in 1965, HOBAN has grown to become one of Australia’s leading recruitment organisations, now spanning 14 offices across the country. Together with RED Appointments and Staff Solutions Bilingual (SSB), the Group supports thousands of candidates and clients across industries every year.
The 60th anniversary was marked with a special celebration at HOBAN's Head Office on Collins Street, Melbourne. We were thrilled to see the Lord Mayor of Melbourne, Councillor Nicholas Reece, attend the event to acknowledge HOBAN’s contribution to the city’s business community. A giant “Hobie” cake was cut and shared live with teams around Australia, including RED Appointments and SSB, so everyone could be part of the moment.
In her speech, HOBAN CEO Alison Watts reflected on the journey so far, from placing hundreds of thousands of people into meaningful work to building trusted partnerships with clients across government, business services, logistics, contact centres and more.
For us at RED Appointments, this milestone resonates deeply. It reinforces the shared mission across our Group: connecting great people with great opportunities. Most importantly, the anniversary is a celebration of people, including the candidates, clients and dedicated teams across HOBAN, RED and SSB who have shaped this journey.
