About the Role
RED Appointments are seeking an experienced Crane Supervisor with an Electrical background for an ongoing full time permanent role, you will lead and coordinate crane and lifting operations across electrical and industrial service works at customer sites.
This is a hands on supervisory role, responsible for overseeing daily field activities, leading crane crews and service technicians, and ensuring all lifting operations are planned, executed, and completed safely, compliantly, and efficiently.
You will act as the key interface between crane crews, electricians, planners, contractors, and clients, with a strong focus on safety leadership, lift planning, compliance with Australian Standards, and high quality outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
• Supervise crane crews, electrical service technicians, and subcontractors on site
• Lead and coordinate complex lifting operations supporting electrical installations, shutdowns, upgrades, and refurbishments
• Review and approve lift plans, risk assessments, JSAs, and permits
• Provide hands on technical guidance across crane operations and electrical scope
• Ensure all work complies with Australian Standards, site procedures, and client requirements
• Monitor work quality through audits, inspections, and leadership
• Promote a strong safety culture and lead incident and near miss reporting
• Coordinate daily work programs to meet deadlines and minimise downtime
• Liaise closely with planners, project managers, and customers
• Approve time sheets and ensure accurate job and labour tracking
• Assist with scoping, quoting, and planning of complex or high risk lifts
• Act as the primary technical contact for clients during site works

About You
You are a proven supervisor who understands the interaction between crane operations and electrical work, and you lead safely, confidently, and professionally in high risk environments.
Essential Requirements:
• Electrical Licence (Essential)
• Demonstrated experience supervising crane and lifting operations
• Current Australian Driver Licence
• Working at Heights competency
• Strong understanding of Australian Standards, lift planning, and electrical safety
• Experience leading technicians and subcontractors on active industrial sites
• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to plan work, manage priorities, and make sound decisions under pressure
Highly Regarded:
• High Risk Work Licences (CN, C6, C2, etc.)
• Dogging or rigging qualifications
• Experience in shutdowns, heavy industry, ports, or energy sectors
