About the Program

As a Data & Voice Communications Apprentice, you'll work alongside experienced technicians on large-scale fibre network and cabling projects across metro Adelaide. You'll gain hands‑on skills while receiving structured training and ongoing support from RED Appointments throughout your apprenticeship.
Typical duties include:
- Hauling, splicing, terminating & testing fibre optic cables
- Installing communications racks, pathways & equipment
- Preparing sites and infrastructure for cabling
- Testing and certifying data cable performance
- Working with fibre, coaxial & multipair cables
- Diagnosing system faults and assisting with repairs
- Following WHS procedures and industry regulations
- Attending all required training toward your qualification

About You
We're looking for enthusiastic school leavers who:
- Are ready to start a career in Data and Communications
- Are reliable, punctual, and committed to completing a 4-year apprenticeship
- Enjoy problem-solving and working with your hands
- Have sound computer literacy and numeracy skills
- Value safety and teamwork
Highly regarded but not essential: - Previous experience in cabling, data or electrical work
- Certificate II in Electrotechnology (UEE22020)
Eligibility
- Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident
- Minimum Year 11 completion
- Driver's licence and reliable transport
