About the Role
As an Operator, you will work as part of a 24/7 rostered team responsible for monitoring, operating and supporting the performance of power generation plant and associated equipment. You will carry out inspections, support safe systems of work, identify and report defects, and assist in ensuring safe access for maintenance activities.
You will also work closely with centralised operational control teams to ensure safe, compliant and efficient site operations across varying technologies and plant types.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate all plant in accordance with safety, environmental and quality requirements.
  • Work with the ROC (Berrimah) to achieve safe and efficient station operations; operate in local mode when required.
  • Support Safe Systems of Work (SSoW) to provide safe plant access for planned and unplanned maintenance.
  • Conduct routine inspections on gas turbines, reciprocating engines, water treatment plant, lubrication systems and associated equipment.
  • Identify and report defects and complete all work orders using the ERP system (Pronto).
  • Participate in a rotating 24/7 shift roster.
  • Direct or oversee work to maintain safe, reliable and efficient power station operations.

Selection Criteria - Essential
  • Strong commitment to workplace safety and safe work practices.
  • AQF Certificate III or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated experience contributing to positive team culture.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to analyse technical systems and report anomalies.
  • Basic-intermediate computer skills.
  • Previous experience working continuous shift work.

Desirable:
  • Experience with gas turbines, dual-fuel engines or spark-ignited reciprocating engines.
  • Experience in accurate defect reporting.
  • Trade background within the power supply industry.
  • Experience within a Permit to Work System.
