Purchasing & Stores Officer
Full-time | Permanent | FIFO 5:2 / 4:3 roster ex Darwin

A unique opportunity exists for an organised and motivated Purchasing and Stores Officer to support a major project in a remote operational environment. This hands‑on role supports procurement, inventory, logistics and maintenance support functions across a complex remote‑area operation.
Reporting to the Workshop Coordinator, you'll play a vital role in ensuring seamless supply chain performance - from sourcing materials and managing freight to supporting data accuracy within the site's maintenance and purchasing systems.

Key responsibilities:
  • Source quotes and raise purchase orders for parts, consumables and operational supplies.
  • Manage inventory levels, conduct stocktakes and ensure accurate goods receipting.
  • Oversee stores operations - including picking, packing, labelling and freight preparation for barge and air transport.
  • Liaise with suppliers, freight providers and internal teams to track orders and deliveries.
  • Support maintenance planning by entering and validating information in MEX and Navision.
  • Maintain safe, compliant and well‑organised stores facilities.
  • Prepare manifests, manage warranty returns and coordinate logistics movements.
  • Lead by example in maintaining safe work practices and supporting environmental standards.
  • Contribute to mentoring and developing local Tiwi employees through on‑the‑job learning and training.
Qualifications and experience:
  • Relevant tertiary or trade qualification in business, procurement, logistics or administration.
  • Minimum 2+ years' experience in purchasing, warehousing or stores management roles.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and strong systems/data entry skills.
  • Familiarity with MEX or ERP systems (Navision experience highly regarded).
  • Current Forklift (LF) and manual driver's licence.
  • Current First Aid certificate.
  • Prior experience in remote logistics, forestry, mining or construction is advantageous.
